Five Spacious SUVs with Third-Row Seating
Have enough space?
How much space do you need in your vehicle? For many, that answer is “a lot.” If you need an SUV with lots of additional space, you can find plenty of good ones with third-row seating.
Kia Sorrento
The Sorrento is easily the zippiest third-row SUV on the road, with a V6 that gets great gas mileage. That alone makes it highly attractive, but it’s also got a lot of safety features that make it a popular ride with families. Boasting one of the best warranties on the market, it also trends towards the lower end on prices, with a wallet-friendly cost that many love. That said, when you choose the third row, it will limit your trim options. If you want something more elaborate, you might want to pick another model.
Dodge Durango
As a rule, the Durango is not going to be your most cost-effective option, especially as you add options such as the third row. It’s one of the priciest SUVs on the market, unless you go for a very basic option. That said, you get a lot of power for your money with a V6 that offers nearly 300 horsepower under the hood and that can tow nearly six tons. You can even get a Durango with a V8 and a Hemi. If you need more power as well as more room, then the Durango is ideal.
Toyota Highlander
The Highlander is arguably one of the most beloved SUVs on the road. With great reviews, a hybrid option, the Safety Sense package that mixes standard passive safety features with active ones, you can mix and match options to your heart’s content. That said, though, it has a lower-power engine than many SUVs in a similar class, although you can get a zippier V6 if you want. Critics feel it handles like one of the more boring vehicles on the road. Still, that likely won’t be a negative for many drivers. After all, if you’re hauling seven people, speeding is probably the last thing you want to do.
Provide enough room for everyone to be comfortable.
Honda Pilot
The Honda Pilot might be the best all-around three-row SUV. With a 280hp V6, high safety scores with both active and passive tools to protect your family, and one of the roomiest cabins in the class, it’s probably the model many will choose. That said, to get the most out of the Pilot, you’ll need to pick out the best options and will need to pay accordingly. If you’re set on a Pilot, you may need to spend a few minutes sorting which options are right for you, and determining how much they’ll cost.
Hyundai Santa Fe
The Santa Fe has, by far, the best entertainment and info options in the class. It also has a decent engine, although there are better in the class. Though lacking a bit in power, the Santa Fe has excellent safety features and plenty of comfort options to add to its appeal. It’s the closest you’ll get to an RV in SUV form.
As you can see, deciding on a third-row SUV means carefully considering lots of different variables. So if you’re ready to shop for a spacious drive, subscribe to get alerts on vehicles in your area.
